The Baptist Faith and Message
What we Believe
Baptists are a people of deep beliefs and cherished doctrines.  Throughout our history we have been a confessional people, adopting statements of faith as a witness to our beliefs and a pledge of our faithfulness to the doctrines revealed in Holy Scripture.

Our confessions of faith are rooted in historical precedent, as the church in every age has been called upon to define and defend its beliefs.  Each generation of Christians bears the responsibility of guarding the treasury of truth that has been entrusted to us [2 Timothy 1:14].

Baptists cherish and defend religious liberty, and deny the right of any secular or religious authority to impose a confession of faith upon a church or body of churches.  We honor the principles of soul competency and the priesthood of believers, affirming together both our liberty in Christ and our accountability to each other under the Word of God.  Our living faith is established upon eternal truths.

Arizona Southern Baptist Convention
The ministries of the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention are organized around the belief that healthy leaders influence healthy churches to evangelize and plant churches.  By providing training and resources in evangelism, church planting and church ministries -- including church programs and leadership -- we serve Arizona Southern Baptist churches as they seek to fulfill the Great Commission.

The Manhattan Declaration
A Call of Christian Conscience

Christians, when they have lived up to the highest ideals of their faith, have defended the weak and vulnerable and worked tirelessly to protect and strengthen vital institutions of civil society, beginning with the family.

It was in this tradition that a group of prominent Christian clergy, ministry leaders, and scholars released the Manhattan Declaration on November 20, 20099 at a press conference in Washington, DC.

The 4,700-word declaration speaks in defense of the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, and religious liberty.  It issues a clarion call to Christians to adhere firmly to their convictions in these three areas.

Whether you are a parent looking for ways to afford Christian education for your child, or an Arizona taxpayer looking for new ways to support Christian education, you are invited to check out our program.
