Safety & Security Procedures
Preschool Check-In/Out Procedures:
  • All preschoolers are to be checked in at the preschool counter.
  • A name tag will be placed on every child and the parent/guardian will be given a security tag to be returned when the child is picked up.
  • There are to be no exceptions to this procedure.  Only adults will be allowed to pick up preschoolers.
  • A parent or assigned adult guardian must be on campus any time a preschooler is present during ministry hours.
  • Children’s Drop-off & Pick-up Procedures:
  • All elementary age children must only be dropped of in a classroom when a teacher is present.
  • Please do not bring children to the classroom before 9:00am on Sunday mornings, 4:40pm on Sunday evenings, and 6:25pm on Wednesdays.
  • Parents of elementary age children who wish to leave campus must notify their child’s teacher how they can be contacted and who is responsible for the child while they are away from the campus.  The teacher will in turn notify the ministry director.
  • Children must be released from their classrooms to an assigned person - a parent, older sibling, or authorized adult.
  • Playground Rules:
  • All children must be supervised by an adult while on the playground.  No exceptions!
  • Emergency Evacuation Procedures:
  • All children will be taken with their classroom group to the gravel area to the east of the playground.
  • When everyone is accounted for, they will be released to the parents.  Please do not try to take your child before they have been checked out!


  • Registration Procedures
    Registration Forms:
  • Registration forms must be printed out and completed for every child.
  • This information is for general use by the teachers and administrative staff.
  • The information will also be used to send newsletters / postcards on upcoming events and general information.
  • If there are any allergies or special considerations for a child, we will have that information readily available.

    Medical Release Forms:
  • An Emergency Information and Immunization Record Card needs to be filled out for every child.
  • The information on the card will be used in case of an emergency while on campus or for any off-campus activities such as Kids Camp, trips to bowling alleys, parks, etc.
  • The information will only be available to the Minister to Children and emergency care professionals, as needed.
  • This form must be on file in order for a parent to leave campus!
  • Waiver of Liability:
  • The waiver is to be filled out once each year, and includes any and all activities and programs sponsored by the church ministries.
  • The waiver also, gives your permission to have your child’s pictures taken during our activities.  These pictures are used for church information only.


  • Health Policies
    General Policies:
  • Teachers are not permitted to give any medication to any child.
  • Certain signs and symptoms in children may suggest the presence of a communicable disease. These children should not be in the group setting.
  • Signs and Symptoms:
  • Children with the following signs and symptoms should not be in the group setting.
  • These children may return when they are not contagious to others and when they feel well enough to participate in program activities.  They must have been on antibiotics for at least 48 hours.


  • Fever:   An underarm temperature of 100° F, or oral temperature of 101°F.  The child may return when he has been fever free for 24 hours without the use of a fever reducer such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
  • Breathing:   Difficulty breathing or coughing.
  • Diarrhea:   Two or more abnormally loose stools in the previous 24 hours.
  • Vomiting:   Two or more episodes of vomiting in the previous 24 hours.
  • Eye/Nose:   Mucus or puss from red eyes or cloudy or thick draining from the nose with green or yellow color.
  • Sore Throat:   When fever or swollen glands are present.
  • Rash:   Undiagnosed rashes with fever or other signs of illness.
  • Sores:   Infected sores with puss, crusting or yellow or green drainage which cannot be covered by bandages.
  • Itching:   Persistent itching or scratching of the body or scalp.
  • Unusual Color:   Eyes or skin-yellow (jaundice). Urine-dark (strong tea or cola color).  These signs suggest hepatitis (liver infection) and should be evaluated by a health care provider.
